Finishing the fourth year of Magic Camp, sponsored by the Ocala Civic Theatre, over 100 students have participated in this unique summer activity. Each year the students learn the fundamentals of magic including presentation,stage presence, the art of misdirection, simple self-working tricks and basic sleight of hand with cards, coins and everyday objects.
Every year the magic tricks are new and different, so a student may repeat the class each summer, honing their learned magic skills.
The Magic Camp runs a full week (Monday-Friday)with morning and afternoon sessions. The sessions are grouped by age to provide more individualized instruction. The grand finale of the week is the Friday Magic Show that highlights the children's accomplishments. A special invitation is extended to parents and friends so they may share in a truly magical experience!
